×Ron Hose is the Founding Partner at Innovation Endeavors, an early stage venture capital fund backed by Eric Schmidt. Prior to IE, Ron was the Co-Founder and CTO of TokBox. Ron Holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from Cornell University, where he graduated at the top of his class. Ron is an active investor and adviser to several Silicon Valley start-ups.
×Maria A. Ressa is the CEO and Executive Editor of Rappler, a social news network which uses a hearts and minds approach to news through a unique mood navigator. Rappler combines the best of professional journalism with citizen journalism and crowdsourcing.
Ms. Ressa has been a journalist in Asia for more than 25 years, most of them as CNN’s bureau chief in Manila (1987-1995) then Jakarta (1995-2005). She was CNN’s lead investigative reporter focusing on terrorism in Southeast Asia and wrote “Seeds of Terror: An Eyewitness Account of al-Qaeda’s Newest Center of Operations in Southeast Asia” (Free Press, 2003).
In 2005, she took the helm of ABS-CBN News and Current affairs, for six years determining strategic direction and managing more than 1,000 journalists for the largest multi-platform news operation in the Philippines. Her work aimed to redefine journalism by combining traditional broadcast, new media and mobile phone technology for social change.
She taught for her alma mater, Princeton University and for the University of the Philippines. She worked on her second book, “From Bin Laden to Facebook” as Author-in-Residence and Senior Fellow at the International Centre for Political Violence & Terrorism Research in Singapore.
×Mark is a writer and designer. His work has been recognized by Tokyo Designers’ Week, Luerzer’s Archive and the Society of Illustrators in Los Angeles.
He enjoys creating kooky cartoons, designing video games and drawing for magazines. He’s passionate about storytelling but what he loves most is his family and the sea.
×Zac is currently a partner at LIFFFT where he helps build products and consults with large companies to help them move faster and think more like startups. Before LIFFFT, he was part of the core Startup Weekend team at their headquarters in Seattle where he was in charge of Hacker Relations. He worked with Google to run pre-event boot camps to teach people about cool platforms, APIs, and technologies they can use in their Startup Weekend projects.
Zac co-founded an Android gaming company called Happy Monster Games. He released one game called TrickyLeaks. Zac was recently in the Philippines serving as facilitator for Startup Weekend Cebu and Startup Weekend Davao. He had such an awesome time, he is returning to the Philippines to participate in GOAB!
×Khailee Ng is Venture Partner at 500 Startups, a Silicon Valley based global seed fund and startup accelerator, overseeing a $10 Million micro-fund to invest in the next generation of Southeast Asia's most promising startups. He is also the co-founder of 2 of successful startups: GroupsMore, a company acquired by Groupon, and SAYS.com, acquired by Catcha Group.
×Earl is the President and Co-founder of the IdeaSpace Foundation, the largest industry-led incubator and accelerator for technology start-ups in the Philippines. He is concurrently the Head of Corporate Development at Smart Communications.
Prior to his move to Asia, he was a Business Incubation Manager at Cisco’s Emerging Technologies Group at the Silicon Valley global headquarters. He also was a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems where he worked in classified R&D Projects for the US Defense Department.
With a passion to combine both technology and business, Earl graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from Boston University, a Masters in Systems Engineering from Cornell, and an MBA from Stanford.
×Paco Sandejas is Managing Partner at Narra Venture Capital, a boutique early-stage investment group that has invested in over 25 high-technology companies, with some notable companies being Inphi (NYSE: IPHI), SiRF (now CSR), Ikanos (NASDAQ: IKAN), and Sandbridge.
Paco serves on the board of Quintic, Astute Networks, Stratpoint Technologies, PSI Technologies, Credit Information Corporation and Xepto Computing. Previously, he was Vice-President of H&Q Asia Pacific, where he helped lead notable early-stage investments in Transmedia (acquired by CISCO) and HeadStrong (acquired by Genpac).
Paco completed his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, summa cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. At Stanford, he co-invented the Grating Light Valve (GLV), one of Stanford’s top IP money-makers. The GLV is a fundamental technology used by Sony, Silicon Light Machines (acquired by Cypress), and a number of other companies that apply it to displays, printers and optical communication systems.
Paco is an active adviser to the Philippine Government. He advises De La Salle University and the University of the Philippines and sits on the board of the Philippine Development Foundation and Credit Information Corporation. He is a co-founder of the Brain Gain Network, a web platform that connects highly skilled professionals interested in improving Philippine competitiveness.
×Partner at 500 Startups and Founder of Dashboard.io. Paul guides companies with Analytics, Customer Acquisition, Customer Analytics, Engineering, Infrastructure, Operatons and SMBs expertise.
He began working on the Dashboard.io technology before he even joined 500 Startups, but it became integral to the 500 experience. In March 2013, he launched Dashboard.io, where entrepreneurs can start having discussions, send private messages, and make comments. Over 400 accelerator companies got access to the platform, where they could communicate with each other and with mentors. By plugging in their website’s Google Analytics, they could compare their progress to other 500 companies.
×Jay is Founder and CEO of Proudcloud, an agile Ruby development firm based in Manila. He has been a tech entrepreneur since the mid 80's and runs Roofcamp, a regular gathering that hopes to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship at the grass roots.
Jay's most recent startup cycle was Airborne Access, a Wi-Fi hotspot network founded in 2002 and acquired by PLDT/SMART in 2008.
×Stephen Jagger is an entrepreneur who has had businesses since high school. His newest venture is PayrollHero.com, "Optimizing work productivity with Happiness". Stephen maintains offices in Vancouver, Canada and Manila, Philippines.

×Erick Garayblas is a game designer and founder of Kuyi Mobile, a game development company based in Manila. He has been developing games for over 12 years and created a number of award-winning and successful titles including the "Streetfood Tycoon" franchise, which has received millions of downloads worldwide. An entrepreneur by heart, Erick loves watching movies, travelling, reading and considers babysitting his best skill to date.
×Christina serves as Founder and Managing Director of Alquemie Partners, a management consulting firm providing hands on operations consulting and advisory services to early stage and growth companies. Her career includes 13 years as a branded consumer, life sciences and technology banker FBR Capital Markets, East Peak Advisors and Pacific Growth Equities; and three years in equity research at Hambrecht & Quist LLC. She has participated in both M&A and capital raise helping raise in excess of $2.0 billion.
Christina also serves as President of the Science & Technology Advisory Council - Silicon Valley, a non-profit focused on promoting a tech entrepreneurship focused ecosystem in the Philippines to support startup activity in the country. STAC SV is the creator and organizer of the nationwide ON3 Business Pitch Competition. In June 2012 STAC SV became a partner of the U.S. Department of State’s Global Entrepreneurship Program. In October 2012, the European Union – United Nations Joint Migration and Development Initiative announced that ON3 would be highlighted in the 2013 Global Mapping report.
Ms. Laskowski recently joined the advisory board of Fashion Technology (FT) Accelerator in Silicon Valley focused on technology start-ups in the consumer, retail and fashion industries. She currently serves as an advisor and shareholder to three women-led businesses Eyegorithm, Inc., Girls4Sport and Rukenya Islands Resort. She is also an advisory board member of University of San Francisco’s entrepreneurial program. She previously served as ad-hoc M&A consultant to Plug and Play Tech Center and Regional Board Member for Women’s Initiative for Self Employment. Her leadership and contributions have been recognized both in the United States and abroad. ×Isabel Gatuslao is a graphic designer whose focus is identity. She has done some work for corporate clients such as Century Properties, National Book Store and MediCard Philippines. Some of her boutique clients include Daphne Oseña Paez, Liz Uy, Lucy Torres-Gomez & Preview Magazine. Recently, she customised a pair of Nike Lebron X sneakers for the athlete's Manila arrival which was featured on his official site lebronjames.com
×Seph Mayol is an artist and creative coder who creates digital interactive experiences and applications. His appreciation for nature led him to explore the beautiful accidents and complexities in computational art and design.
Until 2011, Seph was a graphic/interactive designer and developer, creating online sceneries on and off the web for interactive agencies and design studios local and abroad. Within this experience, Seph worked with their best projects such as Orange, Castrol, Microsoft, WWE, Walt Disney, Ricky Martin, Universal Music Group, and Paramount Pictures, to name a few.
Following his love for design, art and technology, Seph now enjoys building interactive installations, visualizations and generative work, creatively connecting colors, sounds and movements with physical technologies.
In his spare time, Seph celebrates creativity with friends through organizing design exhibitions and conference, sharing graphic design and local talents to the world.
×Jia Jih Chai is the Country Manager for Airbnb Southeast Asia. He oversees operations and business development in Southeast Asia for Airbnb.
Prior to joining Airbnb, JJ was a Junior Partner at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. In his 5 years there, he advised leading technology and telecoms companies across Southeast Asia. He had also spent time early in his career as a software developer and product manager at a tech startup. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, and graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.
JJ traded in the corporate world for the startup life at Airbnb not only because he now gets to wear jeans to work, but also because he believes that Airbnb can help make rich travel experiences accessible to Asians. A frequent traveller himself, JJ has been to over 30 countries, and looks forward to adding several more pins to that map with Airbnb.
×Jason is a co-founder and CTO of Proudcloud, a Ruby on Rails and Javascript Software Consultancy shop in Manila. He currently leads technology, development operations and making sure that culture is awesome as always.

×Happy Garaje is a creative studio from the island of Cebu, Philippines, co-founded by Mark Deutsch and Johanna Velasco Deutsch. They are image-makers and storytellers whose work has received the Gold award from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, has been exhibited in galleries and events like Gallery Nucleus and Tokyo Designers' Week, included in publications such as SemiPermanent and have been on the Luerzer's Archive list of 200 best illustrators worldwide from 2009 to 2012.
Their clients include Raffles, The Four Seasons, Mead Johnson, Ayala Land, The Bank of the Philippine Islands, Aboitiz Power, among others. They also do a good amount of studio-initiated projects where they create work inspired by travel, fairy tales and stories of everyday people.
×Michael Josh is a multimedia journalist and founding member of social news network Rappler.com. As Rappler’s Director for Special Projects he splits time heading the network’s social media team, organizing events like the annual Social Good Summit and overseeing the development of its iOS and Android apps. He also produces and anchors the weekly tech show TechRap and travels the globe to speak on behalf of technology for social good.
Prior to joining Rappler, Michael Josh spent a decade with broadcast network GMA 7 where he spearheaded the company’s social media arm. He jumpstarted its citizen journalism program YouScoop and revolutionized transmission and live reporting through digital news gathering initiatives.
Michael Josh hold a Masters Degree in Journalism from the Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo De Manila University where he is a Konrad Adenauer Fellow. He is co-author of the book The Social Media (R)evolution published in Singapore in 2012.
×Eden Shochat is founder & equal partner at Aleph, a new $140 million venture capital fund focused on serving Israeli entrepreneurs who want to build big, scalable, global businesses.
Prior to founding Aleph, Shochat was a general partner at Genesis where he focused on seed-stage investments, was a co-founder of Face.com, the world leader in massive, web-scale face recognition in social networks, recently acquired by facebook and co-founded and was the CTO of Aternity, where he led the strategic product direction for its dominant user-experience monitoring platform.
Entrepreneurship is a passion for Eden, who started The Junctionthat was voted as the #1 startup program in Israel, is one of the organizers of the annual Geekcon geeks conference and teaches at the IDC (Herzeliya interdisciplinary center) Zell entrepreneurship program.
×Inbar has been teaching and lecturing about Internet Security and Reverse Engineering for nearly as long as he has been doing that himself. He started programming at the age of 9 on his Dragon 64. For his Bar-Mitzva he got a PC, and promptly started Reverse Engineering at the age of 14 and through high-school he was a key figure in the Israeli BBS scene, together with Eden Shochat. He spent most of his career in an elite technological unit in the army, finding tough solutions to even tougher problems, and the only reason he's not in jail right now is because he chose the right side of the law at an earlier age.
Since late 2011, Inbar has been running the Malware and Security Research at Check Point, using his extensive experience of over 20 years in the Internet and Data security fields. He holds a B.A. in Computer Sciences from the Academic College of Tel-Aviv.
×Robin is an internet marketing veteran and entrepreneur. Since 1997 he founded, ran and sold two European internet marketing agencies and directed hundreds of internet marketing projects for organisations throughout Europe. He has also lectured on internet marketing at numerous European business conferences and universities.
Robin Gurney will present extracts from The State of Digital Marketing in Asia 2013 report, published by Econsultancy in association with Campaign Asia-Pacific.
×Henry started PlayMesh, a mobile gaming company that came out the same summer with App Store. Prior to that, he joined Bowei Gai at Snapture Labs to work on Snapture 2.0 after his graduation at Carnegie Mellon University (2005-2008). As a geek in gaming, he has launched over 50 games over 5 years and worked mostly as a frontend developer.
He also has experiences in game design, game production, engineering management, and product lead. Currently, he is the co-founder of Quark Games and is supporting two flagship games: Valor and Champs: Battlegrounds.
×Janette Toral is the author of Blogging from Home, DigitalFilipino.com E-Commerce Workshop E-Book co-author/editor of the Philippine Internet Review: 10 Years of Internet History (1994 - 2004), and DigitalFilipino: An E-Commerce Guide for the eFilipino. She has published 14 research reports tackling Internet, e-commerce, online banking, IT manpower, outsourcing, mobile phone usage, IT adoption developments in the country.
She renders consulting work in the area of e-commerce strategy, website development, and digital marketing.
She regularly conducts training on e-learning, e-mail marketing, Internet advertising, blogging, online payment, website marketing, e-commerce project planning, software process improvement, requirements management, and software project management. Janette Toral is a certified SCRUM Master and Product Owner.
Currently, Janette Toral is the Program Co-Director and Trainer at Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Digital Entrepreneur Program. She is also the Community Owner at DigitalFilipino Club. And at the same time, Columnist at Sun.Star Online.
×Paul is a co-founder of Acaleph, a cloud storage platform-as-a-service company currently in stealth mode. Prior to starting up Acaleph, he has had more than 10 years experience in game production and development, from both local and multinational game development studios such as Anino Games and Gameloft. He has shipped several titles as programmer and producer on several platforms, including Java Mobile, Facebook, Nintendo DS and iOS.
Paul is greatly involved in developing the local game industry as well.
